  •

We know that parents are the biggest influence on their children’s lives and character, and coaches can play a key role in creating effective sporting environments and setting the tone to allow parental engagement to flourish. Such actions include (and not limited to) being clear in your philosophy, being proactive in your communication, bringing parents on board with you and ensure your behaviours model on a regular basis the messages you wish to get across.

Let's start planning for the new year ahead, get the parents involved and watch your parental engagement thrive!

In this workshop, Gordon will be sharing

• Sporting parents are a great resource – are we as coaches tapping into them enough?

• What is parental engagement – how does it help our coaching?

• Understanding today’s sporting parent

• What can we do as a coach to keep parents happy? What does a happy parent give in return?

• Coaches, you are key in setting the tone to allow parental engagement to flourish

• Communicate, communicate, communicate somemore

o What does an effective communication policy look like?

o Are we running effective parents meetings?

o What other creative ways can coaches engage parents in?

o How to deal with a disagreement

• Have a plan to engage your parents for the new year

Look forward to seeing all coaches online!
