Singapore Gymnastics is developing the Coach Mentor Programme as part of the SG Club Quality Assurance as well as the Coaches Education framework. We believe every club can and should have a mentor to help foster young coaches within their clubs and from the community. 

The purpose of the this programme is to give coach mentors the tools and strategies they can use when working with mentees and other coaches but also it is for us SG to ascertain how well their views align with our SG philosophy of what a mentor should do. This is very much tied to our Fundamental and Intermediate course and it is very much about community coaching and not high performance.

Each club can nominate their senior coach(s) for the upcoming Coach Mentor pilot programme. Expression of interest closes on  Wednesday, 23 June 2021 @ 12nn.

Who should the nominated coach mentor be?

• From a SG affiliated club
• SG Technical member & NROC registered
• At least an Intermediate 1B coaching accreditation
• At least 3 years of coaching experience
• The coach possess the right aptitude and attitude to guide and help junior coaches
• The coach who puts their athletes welfare at heart
• Abides by the coaches code of conduct and does not have any disqualifying factors, especially in view of child safety

Step 3: Click the Nominate button above and upload the list to SG

Upon receipt of the nomination, a member of our staff will reach out to the candidate to follow up. Please note that SG reserves the right to make the final appointment on coach mentors after the programme.
