Lim Heem Wei became Singapore’s first gymnast to qualify for the Olympics when she did so for the 2012 London edition. She finished in 45th place and set a personal best in the uneven bars event.
After being one of the youngest to ever compete at Southeast Asian Games in 2001 as a 12-year-old, Heem Wei helped Singapore to team golds in 2005, 2007 and 2011 editions of the Southeast Asian Games. She also holds a Commonwealth Games individual silver medal in the balance beam, which she earned in 2010.
Heem Wei now is one of our National Team coaches nurturing the next generation of gymnasts towards their Olympic dreams as well as an active member of the Commonwealth Games Athletes Commission.
