On the 2 and 3 May, SG conducted a Rhythmic Gymnastics National Level 2 Judges Course. The course was conducted by Berfin Serdil Ors, SG’s National Head Coach and FIG Brevet Category 3 Judge.
The National Level 2 Course is part of SG’s judging accreditation pathway and to attend the course judges already needed to have completed a National Level 1 RG judging accreditation. The judges accredited at National Level 2 are deemed competent to judge execution for Level 6-7, Stage 1-3 and FIG at non sanctioned FIG events.
Topics covered in the course were:
- General Code of Points
- Body Difficulty
- Difficulty of Apparatus
- Fundamental and Non-Fundamental Apparatus Handling
- Artistry
- Risk – Dance elements with rotation
- Execution
The judges underwent a rigours exam process which entailed a combination of theory and practical. Judges were expected to pass all aspects of the practical which included artistry, execution and difficulty while reviewing a combination of apparatus, hoop, ball clubs and ribbon.
