Exciting Updates: 2024 Rhythmic Gymnastics Carnival & Launch of the New National Programme

Published Wed 16 Oct 2024

Singapore Gymnastics is delighted to announce that the 2024 Rhythmic Gymnastics (RG) Carnival will take place on Sunday, 3 November 2024. This year’s event will not only be a fun-filled day of participation but also marks a major milestone in the sport—the official debut of the new RG National Programme, which will be implemented ahead of the upcoming Classic.

Focused on the development of young gymnasts, the Carnival will feature over 187 athletes competing across Levels 1 to 3, representing a 36% increase in participation from last year. This vibrant event will showcase the passion and dedication of our athletes while fostering a sense of community within the rhythmic gymnastics world.

Transition to the New RG National Programme

As part of this transition, we would like to remind all clubs of the key rules that must be followed to ensure athletes are entered in the appropriate levels. Clubs are responsible for managing these transitions properly, as athletes competing at incorrect levels will face disqualification.

Key Transition Guidelines:

  • Gymnasts must adhere to the transition guidelines outlined in the official transition table.
  • Athletes cannot downgrade from their current level but may move up if they meet the required age criteria.
  • Transitions are based on current level and age eligibility. If an athlete does not meet the minimum age for the next level, they will transition to the highest level eligible for their age.
  • Gymnasts who passed their grade at the 2024 National Championships will automatically advance to the next highest level.

We strongly encourage all clubs to carefully review the transition table to ensure athletes are entered in the correct levels. For any questions regarding the transition process, please contact us at hptd@singaporegymnastics.org.sg.

Sharing Session: Understanding Judging & Scoring for the New Programme

In preparation for the implementation of the new RG National Programme 2025 & Beyond, Singapore Gymnastics is hosting an exclusive sharing session focused on judging and scoring. This session is an excellent opportunity for club administrators and coaches to learn about the new scoring system and key judging criteria—especially for clubs without an in-house judge.
