30 Questions with Tan Sze En

Published Fri 23 Jul 2021

Singapore Gymnastics Olympic representative, Tan Sze En opens up about her secret hobby, her advice to her younger self and her wish more people focussed on about her in the latest installment of 30 Questions Interview.

With flexibility, lots of sweat, determination and grit, Tan Sze En is flipping up the training as the Tokyo Olympics are right around the corner.

One year on, and while it's been a long journey to Tokyo for this tenacious athlete, she is not letting anything get in her way of representing Team Singapore at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics.

Sze En has been training in the US for the past 6 months under the watchful eye of her coach, Tabitha Yim, and will fly direct into Tokyo just a few days before the official training kicks off from her home base in California. After completing freshman year at Stanford University in the US just a week ago, she has already started to turn up the heat on her training and is fully focused on what is ahead.

Sze En is only the second Singaporean gymnast to achieve this feat and follows in the footsteps of Lim Heem Wei who was our first gymnast to compete at the Olympics in London 2012.
