Singapore Gymnastics is excited to announce the appointment of Ms Berfin Serdil Ors as the Rhythmic Gymnastics National Head Coach!
Ms Berfin hails from Turkey and she has the experience of a national gymnast, national coach, FIG Brevet Judge and Head of the RG Technical Committee in her home country. An accomplished ex-National gymnast for 13 years, Ms Berfin had participated in the World Championships, European Championships, Mediterranean Games and more than 10 Grand Prix and World Cups. She was the Champion of Turkey (6 times) and achieved 12th position in Grand Prix and 18th place in the World Cup Minsk-Belarus as her best results.
Having coached since 2008, she has experience with coaching gymnasts aged 3 up till the Pre-Junior, Junior and Senior levels. A notable achievement is her leading the first ever National Team of Group Seniors of Turkey competing in the World Championships in 2014 as the team’s National Coach. Afterwards, while she was the head of technical committee in her country, the senior group of Turkey won the gold medal for their 3 Hoops and 4 Clubs routine in the 2020 European Championships in Kyiv, Ukraine.
Berfin is also an accomplished assistant professor in her home country where she obtained a Ph.D. in Sport Sciences, and has published articles, books and conference papers related to rhythmic gymnastics and performance development.
In a statement from Berfin on her appointment, she said “I’m really excited to be part of SG and to meet all the gymnasts, parents, coaches, and SG staff. I will do my best to help the improvement of RG High-Performance program. My goal will be helping the gymnasts to reach their best with my RG coaching, judging, and scientific experiences. I hope we will reach high achievements together with SG family.”
