The SG Board has passed the resolution on 26^th November 2020 that due to the 2021 SEA Games Rhythmic Gymnastics would have a Group All-Around event, Singapore would look to send a Group team, if possible, to participate in the event scheduled to be held 27-28 November 2021

• Successfully selected Group gymnasts are required to fulfil all SNOC qualification requirements.

Due to the resolution, SG board also decided that open selection trial for RG Group athletes will be conducted by the appointed SG selection panel, comprising of TAC members, based on the SG Rhythmic TAC’s formulated selection criteria in Part A and Part B as stipulated below.

1. Part A: Physical and Skill Testing

Participants are tested on the following:

1. Basic Skills - Flexibility, Posture, Coordination, Strength and Stamina
2. Body Difficulties – Balances, Pivots and Leaps
3. Gymnast’s own FIG Ball Routine
4. Gymnast’s own FIG Hoop Routine OR Clubs Routine

2. Part B: Participation of 4 training sessions as per schedule shows below. Full attendance of the training sessions is compulsory to be eligible for selection. The training sessions are crucial in evaluating the potential group gymnasts because their performance in cooperation of the exchanges and collaboration difficulties, will impact the score of the Groups routine performed at 2021 SEA Games which will require immaculate synchronization, synergy and cooperation among all 6 gymnasts.

The 4 training sessions will be led by the TAC Coaching Coordinator Zhou Ying.

In preparation for the assessment on the Final Group Selection day, participants will be taught the following:

1. Exchange Throws and Catches   
2. Collaborations
3. Risks

Successful athletes will be notified by the 30^th Dec 2020 2359hrs.

Following the selection, as per the Board’s resolution, if there are 5 or more selected athletes, an online meeting will be convened on 31 Dec 2020 with the athletes and parents, for the purpose of making the decision on where, when and who trains the RG Group for the SEA Games 2021 Hanoi, Vietnam.

Please note that the formation of the group gymnasts from this selection is solely for SEA Games 2021 in Hanoi, Vietnam. The group will cease its representation of Singapore Gymnastics upon the conclusion of SEA Games 2021.

Interested gymnasts will need to register via this form to indicate Expression of Interest by 18 Dec 2020 12 pm. 

Upon confirmation of registration, more detailed information including the criteria will be sent to the athletes and their coaches at least one week prior to Part A of the selection process. The Open RG Group Selection Trial 2020 will only be held if 5 or more athletes register their Expression of Interest.
