This is to help further clarify the Singapore Gymnastics Press Release that was sent out on 25 March 2020, which superseded all previous advisories and operational guidance that have been sent out on this matter.
To clarify, ALL NSA National Youth Training (and youth club /affiliates training) must cease immediately until 30 April 2020. Youths involved in the NSA National Team Training are to be excused from training. For reference, for this specific situation, we are defining Youth as anyone that is in an establishment below University or National Service. This cessation of all youth training is in order to minimise transmission risk from inter-school interaction.
National Team Training may proceed with training sessions limited to 10 people or fewer and with appropriate screening measures, ensuring only one person per 16sqm of usable space. Athletes and coaches should maintain a distance of at least 1m spacing between them, with training format modified to accommodate this criteria. Groups of more than 10 people must be split, without cross mixing throughout the session.
All other training, courses and workshops may proceed accordingly, ensuring strict adherence to the previous precautionary measures.
ALL NSAs (and your clubs / affiliates) must adhere to all these measures above. It is paramount that we as a community band together to help manage transmission risks.
Please remain vigilant and to refer to the latest advisories and updates on MOH’s website. The above advisories will be subject to further review based on the global and local situation. The health and safety of our athletes and community are our priority. Thank you for your continued support and understanding as we practise social responsibility to stay safe and healthy!
