Coach Development Session - Whole Brain Thinking

Published Thu 27 May 2021

Over the past two weeks the National Training Centre coaches and managers participated in Whole Brain Thinking training. This was one of the regular professional development activities our NTC coaches have.

This programme shows insights into the idea that people think differently and process information differently. An understanding of this as a coach will greatly enhance their ability to teach athletes.

All participants completed a survey identifying their tendencies, and then an individual review about the implications of this for their coaching.

The final component looked at changes in thinking and processing under stress, and how that might affect how a coach works with an athlete in competition, or even when they are under stress during exam times.

Thanks to Adam Hosking for running these sessions for us.
