12 targeted coach professional development workshops across THREE mornings.

CCE hours awarded. All sessions held in Bishan Sports Hall.

Singapore Gymnastics is excited to bring in new speakers each coaches congress and share that information with our technical members. There are workshops catered to all disciplines in the 3 days congress. Read more below!

Part I - Basics of twisting and flipping on trampoline (BYOG) 

Building a strong gymnastics foundation with the use of full-size trampoline for Developing Athletes! Learn the essentials of trampolining to improve aerial awareness and as a tool for cross training for other disciplines and even sports!

Coaches are highly encouraged to bring their athletes to this workshop and participate!

Get Creative - Incorporating apparatus into warm ups and conditioning 

Hand apparatus is suitable to a wide age range, can provide variety, challenge, increase the physical demands of an activity, and most importantly fun! Experience a set of exercises involving hand apparatus i.e. balls to enhance whole body warm ups & conditioning that helps with strength for leg lifts and upper torso controls.

This workshop is suitable for coaches working with athletes of all disciplines.

Part II – My gym does not have a trampoline, what now? Other ways to develop twists and flips (BYOG)

Following from Part I earlier, this workshop explores with coaches how they can develop twists and flips with their gymnasts even if their gym do not have a full size trampoline.

 

Coaches are highly encouraged to bring their athletes to this workshop and participate!

Part III - Transferring skills from trampoline to other apparatus in the gym (BYOG)

Work on bringing the flips and twists off the trampoline and onto other apparatus in the gym such as tumbling on floor and beam and dismount off bars! 

 

Coaches are highly encouraged to bring their athletes to this workshop and participate! Athletes need not have trampoline background for this workshop however coaches need to know what their athletes are doing on equipment like releases on bars, what vault they are training, and tumbling they are training.

Coordination with apparatus 

Rhythmic gymnastics (RG) is a beautiful and complex sport which requires increased space-time coordination between body movements and apparatus handling, thus making specific motor coordination a vital part of technical preparation in RG. Join us in this workshop that discusses the important role in creating the preconditions necessary for allowing the gymnast to learn many RG techniques and enhancing the harmony between gymnasts and apparatus.

Supporting students with special needs: Schedules, Routines and Visuals for ASD and ADHD 

Led by Special school educators, this one-hour session is designed specifically for educators, caregivers, and anyone passionate about empowering students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD). In this workshop, we will explore the immense impact of schedules, routines, and visual supports in the lives of students with special needs. Discover how these simple yet powerful tools can create a world of difference by providing structure, predictability, and independence for our learners.

Fueling to optimise the health and performance of gymnasts

This presentation will cover essential nutritional strategies and issues related to gymnasts, to enhance their performance and optimise overall well-being. As gymnastics is a highly demanding sport, requiring exceptional strength, flexibility, endurance, and mental grit, it requires proper nutrition to support performance and health. Practical tips including what to eat before, during, and after training, to maximise energy levels and minimise fatigue, meal planning, hydration strategies, and promotion of healthy eating behaviours, will be covered.
