Singapore Gymnastics (SG) recently conducted the Level 1 Rhythmic Gymnastics (RG) Judging Reaccreditation Course in preparation for the upcoming changes to the Code of Points (CoP) and RG National Programme in 2025. More than 35 judges attended the course and sat for the reaccreditation exam, demonstrating their commitment to maintaining high standards of judging within the national and international gymnastics community.
The Level 1 reaccreditation course, successfully conducted in September, marked the beginning of a series of crucial training sessions for active and current judges, as all existing accreditations will expire by the end of 2024. These courses are essential due to the significant updates to the RG National Programme, which will be fully implemented in 2025. However, a phased rollout will commence with the upcoming Carnival and Classic competitions. The updates require all National Level 1-3 and FIG Brevet judges to re-accredit, ensuring they are fully prepared to judge according to the new regulations.
During the course, participants attended sessions that focused on key updates in the 2025 National Programme and how these changes will affect judging at the national level. Judges were able to engage in discussions and gain deeper insights into the new rules, which will play a crucial role in the implementation of the new RG National Programme.
With more than 30 participants successfully completing the course and exam, this first step in the reaccreditation process reflects the dedication of the gymnastics community to uphold excellence in judging standards. The success of the Level 1 course paves the way for future reaccreditation courses, as Level 2 and Level 3 courses are set to take place in the coming months.
SG remains committed to providing ongoing education and support for judges as we transition into the new judging framework, ensuring that all judges are well-prepared for the changes in the national and international gymnastics landscape.
