The Men’s Artistic Gymnastics (MAG) Technical Advisory Committee (TAC) and the MAG Working Group are thrilled to announce the launch of the revamped MAG National Programme, set to take effect at the 2025 National Championships. This updated programme reflects our commitment to creating a more progressive pathway that supports athlete development, fosters participation, and aligns with high-performance goals to prepare athletes for future international competition.
Key Changes to the Programme Structure and Pathway
To streamline and strengthen the development pathway, Level 6 has been removed. Athletes will now have a smoother transition from Level 5 into the newly designed Stage 6, which incorporates modified Junior FIG elements. This restructuring ensures that as athletes progress, they are introduced to skills appropriate to their age and development level, allowing for a balanced and gradual build-up to higher levels of competition.
Enhanced Routines for Skills and Performance Growth
The MAG National Programme has been carefully redeveloped to increase participation and provide all athletes with a path suited to their individual aspirations, whether competitive or high-performance. Significant adjustments have been made to the skills and routines in the Stages pathway, focusing on building core competencies and advanced skills needed for high-performance gymnastics. These changes ensure our top athletes are competing skills at the right stage in their development to foster long-term success on the FIG stage.
Focused Modifications to Key Apparatus in the Levels Stream
To support clubs and minimise transition impacts, changes to the Levels stream have been applied selectively, with adjustments concentrated on the High Bar, Vault, and Pommel Horse apparatus. These modifications will help athletes in the Levels pathway develop strong, fundamental skills that prepare them for higher-level competitions, while keeping club programmes stable and manageable during this transition period.
Looking Forward to the 2025 National Championships
The launch of the MAG National Programme 2025 & Beyond represents a significant step forward for gymnastics in Singapore, aligning our pathways with international standards and setting the foundation for future success in the sport. We are excited to see our athletes thrive under this new structure and look forward to showcasing their skills at the upcoming National Championships.
