First KinderGym course of 2022

Published Fri 18 Feb 2022

Gymnastics coaches came on together to learn more about the KinderGym course which was conducted on 15-16 February 2022 at Bishan Sports Hall.  Coaches come together to learn about how important it is to create a fun, engaging and safe training for preschool’s children so that they get to build on their physical literacy from young. Engaging in active play is essential for children to develop both physically, cognitively, and mentally to go further in sport and life.

Often, coaches spend a portion of their time doing all the planning work in preparation of coaching a class.  Here at the KinderGym course, coaches get to try out their plans, get constructive feedback and go on to enhance their lesson plan to make it mimic the real-life scenarios when they are coaching young children.

The goal of this KinderGym course is to

  • Encourage active confident children through Gymnastics, starting with the young ones under 6 years old
  • Making the sport accessible but at the same time forming a pathway where children can further their interest and practice in Gymnastics
  • Develop physical and cognitive skills in a fun and playful way
  • Equip every child with a base level of physical literacy to go further in sport and life
