Frans Wiwanto is Flywire's Chief Compliance Officer for the Asia Pacific region. In his role, he manages a team of professionals in the region with responsibility for all matters within compliance.
Frans has headed compliance teams regionally for more than 15 years covering payments, investment banking, corporate banking, private banking and global markets. He started his career with the Singapore government where he was attached to the Inland Revenue Authority and Monetary Authority. Before joining Flywire, Frans had led Moneygram's compliance teams in Asia Pacific, where he was involved in several payments projects and conducted training for agents and regulators in the region.
His experience also includes senior positions at other leading financial institutions such as Mizuho, HSBC and RBS. He has worked in Singapore and Hong Kong.
Frans has an Honors degree in Business Administration from the National University of Singapore. He is also a Chartered Financial Analyst and a Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist.
The current Board of Directors reviewed potential candidates for consideration on fulfilling the Director casual vacancy position left after the resignation of Molly Suwenfeng Martel on the 2 March 2020. Molly held a 4-year term Elected Director position at the time of her resignation. In accordance with 10.12 of the SG Constitution, the Directors approved the appointment of Frans Wiwanto as a Director to the SG Board taking the current casual vacancy position and this will be confirmed at the 2020 AGM, with Frans in place until the 2023 AGM.

According to the SG Constitution clause 10.12 Casual Vacancy:
a) The Board may at any time appoint a person to be a Director to fill a casual vacancy.
b) A Director who takes office under this clause:
i) in the case of a replacement for an Elected Director must have their position as confirmed by resolution at the next AGM; and
ii) if so confirmed, holds office until the end of the term of the Elected Director who caused the casual vacancy
