Fundamental Gymnastics Coaches Course - September 2018

Published Fri 12 Oct 2018

Fundamentals Course

Through the partnership with Republic Polytechnic, the Fundamentals Gymnastics course is now an integrated course, integrating contents from SG-Coach Level 1 (theory) as well as Values and Principles in Sports (VPS). Participants who pass this course successfully will be able to get their National Registry Of Coaches (NROC) provisional membership, subject to attaining their Standard First Aid (SFA) certification. We were privileged to have our course presenters, Ms Brooke Kneebush from Gymnastics Australia, Mr Trevor Ian Lim and Dr Ho Mun Wai from Republic Polytechnic, as well as Ms Karen Norden and Mr Perry Koh from Singapore Gymnastics.

The Fundamentals Gymnastics course, formerly known as the General Gymnastics course, was piloted in September. The 3 days course was held on 9th, 25th – 26th (half days) and 27th September, consisting of 2 days of theory sessions and 1 day of practical session. The course was attended by a total of 26 coaches and it was exciting to have a good blend of coaches from artistic gymnastics, rhythmic gymnastics as well as trampoline. Participants were being assessed throughout the course on their competency level on their ability to make lesson plans, demonstrating their ability to break down skills etc.

Singapore Gymnastics would like to extend our thanks to the course presenters, Republic Polytechnic, SportSG, as well as Prime Gymnastics for their contributions to make this course a successful one.
