Published Sat 15 May 2021

Following the announcement of Further Stricter Safe Management Measures for Sport and Physical Exercise & Activity (16 May – 13 June 2021) issued on 14 May 2021, Singapore Gymnastics (SG) has since updated our sport-specific guidelines to be in line with the new government measures and it has been approved by SportSG.

We deeply feel for our clubs amidst these uncertain and frustrating times as more stringent measures have been rolled out in light of the current public health situation. Singapore Gymnastics is committed to all our affiliated clubs and will be here to support to our best abilities, answering questions and help clarify with SportSG any queries clubs may have during this period.

At the same time we urge everyone to remain vigilant and observe all Gymnastics-specific safe management measures guidelines to protect yourselves, your loved ones and community.

When in doubt and to prevent confusion, the general rule-of-thumb is that gymnastics clubs should always refer to our Gymnastics sport-specific guidelines approved by SportSG and ensure they comply with all government guidelines and the gymnastics-specific Safe Management Measures presently in place.

The immediate key changes are:

  • Facilities can only admit a maximum number of persons according to its Gross Floor Area based on 16 Sqm per person. No facility, regardless of size, shall admit more than 50 persons
  • Each bubble is limited to no more than 2 gymnasts. Maintain a physical distance of at least 2m between each individual from the same bubble.
  • Each coach should take no more than 4 bubbles at any one time.
  • The bubbles of 2 are not to intermingle before, during and after the class, and must remain 3 metres apart.
  • Each bubble of 2 gymnasts is allowed 1 coach. If clubs are to be in a situation where 1 coach needs to oversee multiple bubbles concurrently, safe management measures applies.
  • Masks MUST be worn by ALL individuals at ALL TIMES.
