Singapore Gymnastics is proud to announce that our Participation Pathway Officer, Emma, recently attended the FIG Foundations of Gymnastics course in Bhaktapur, Nepal, from July 23-28, 2024. This international event brought together representatives from eight different countries, united by the mission to promote gymnastics as an inclusive sport for people of all ages and abilities.
The FIG Foundations of Gymnastics course emphasizes inclusivity and aims to make gymnastics accessible to everyone, fostering a global community of gymnastics enthusiasts. By participating in this course, Singapore Gymnastics reaffirms its commitment to bringing the benefits of gymnastics to people of all ages, from children to seniors, across our nation. 

The course, taught by experts Mr Ariki Tatsuo, Mr. Marco Bortoleto, and Ms. Petrina Hutchinson, focused on making gymnastics accessible and fostering a global community of enthusiasts. Participants from various countries shared best practices in coaching and program development, exchanging ideas and experiences. This international collaboration provided valuable insights into how different nations promote gymnastics and integrate it into their physical education programs. The knowledge gained will enhance Singapore Gymnastics' local programs, ensuring they meet the diverse needs of all participants

Emma's engagement with international peers highlighted our dedication to continuous professional development and our commitment to the Gymnastics for All initiative. Her participation in the course aligns with our mission to make gymnastics a fundamental sport that supports the development of other athletic skills. We believe that gymnastics serves as the foundation for all sports, offering numerous physical, mental, and social benefits. By staying updated with the latest techniques and methodologies through international collaborations, we ensure that our programs remain at the forefront of the sport, providing high-quality training for all.

Singapore Gymnastics is excited to be part of the global Gymnastics for All community, working towards making gymnastics accessible and enjoyable for everyone. We look forward to implementing the insights gained from the FIG Foundation of Gymnastics course to benefit our programs and participants in Singapore.
