Singapore Gymnastics is excited to announce two major initiatives coming up this November: the High-Performance Symposium and SGDP Workshops, both of which are available to all SG-registered technical members. These events are part of SG’s ongoing commitment to fostering high-performance excellence through a blend of technical expertise and collaborative learning opportunities.

As part of the Singapore Gymnastics Development Programme (SGDP), which features two annual camps, this November’s camp introduces a unique addition: specialized workshops. While the camps have always included internationally recognised technical experts and workshops, this year we are excited to open these workshops to all SG-registered technical members, offering a broader opportunity for engagement and learning.

SGDP Workshops & Technical Experts:

This November, SGDP workshops will be conducted daily from 26–29 November, offering technical development for athletes and coaches alike. Coaches will have the opportunity to register for these workshops and observe the SGDP camps, allowing them to earn Continuing Coach Registration (CCR) hours. These workshops are designed to offer practical, actionable insights that coaches can immediately apply to their daily coaching and training practices.

We are thrilled to introduce the esteemed technical experts for the 2024 November SGDP Camps:

MAG SGDP Expert – Andrew Butcher: A High-Performance Coach at Leeds Gymnastics Club, Andrew is known for coaching Olympians Luke Whitehouse and Harry Hepworth. With an impressive track record that includes guiding athletes to multiple World Cup and European Championship medals, Andrew's holistic coaching approach continues to inspire and nurture world-class talent.

WAG SGDP Expert – David Kenwright: With over 40 years of experience, David Kenwright has shaped gymnastics programs across the globe, from the UK to Canada and Australia. He led the British team to success at the Tokyo Olympics, with multiple World and European Championship medals under his guidance.

RG SGDP Expert – Silviya Miteva-Yaneva: We are delighted to welcome back the legendary Bulgarian gymnast, Silviya Miteva-Yaneva, for her second appearance at the SGDP Camp. Silviya, an Olympian and multi-medallist at European and World Championships, brings unparalleled experience in Rhythmic Gymnastics. Now an expert with the FIG Coaches Academy, her expertise will undoubtedly enrich the learning experience for all attendees.

High Performance Symposium – Monday, 25 November:

In addition to the SGDP workshops, we are hosting an exclusive High-Performance Symposium on Monday, 25 November, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, featuring our technical experts alongside an exciting international guest expert, who will be announced soon. This symposium promises to deliver valuable insights into high-performance gymnastics, with specialised sessions not only for coaches but also for parents, to help them support their athletes’ journey.
