UWCSEA East Dragons Gymnastics Team seeks an experienced Head of WAG from February 2021.
Reporting to the Program Head of Gymnastics, the incumbent will ensure the effective planning and running of a high-quality WAG programme. The Head of WAG will oversee and develop the smooth running of administration tasks for Dragons Gymnastics in coordination with the Head of Gymnastics.
Coaching:
Ensure the smooth running of the entire WAG program. This includes talent ID, junior squads, senior Squads.
Plan and deliver technically sound session plans (for WAG Infant Gym, Competitive Squads)
Ensure coaching techniques are in accordance with best practices
Talent identification of gymnasts in PE lessons
Assist PE teachers with delivering PE lessons during gymnastics units throughout the school year
Develop engaging and effective training sessions that are scaffolded and progressive.
Administration/Communication:
General parent comms in regards to student development around gymnastics and our pathways
Organise and liaise with Head of Gymnastics overseas trips and coordination of events
WAG specific tasks to ensure the smooth running of Dragons Gymnastics programs.
Support the Head of Gymnastics with the effective running of the club.
Work with the administration and Head of Gymnastics in the implementation of workshops, competitions and festivals.
Develop a strategic plan with the Head of Gymnastics regarding the development and journey from pre squad through to the Senior level.
Lead and plan weekly WAG meetings with coaches and stakeholders
Planning and implementation of the WAG program in conjunction with the Head of Gymnastics.
Carry out, record and report assessments, physical testing, skills testing for all level periodically
Set individualized short, medium and long term plans for all squad gymnasts.
Managing & achieving targets based on annual plans
General:
Liaise with Head of Gymnastics with matters that concern PE, school displays and school activity that involve WAG students
Align and communicate with Head of Gymnastics and the Activities team as needed
Align with UWCSEA values
Assist with minimal recreation classes as needed.
Minimum Diploma in related discipline
FIG L2 or equivalent and above / Equivalent Australian Advanced Silver WAG
Minimum 3 years of experience in a leadership coaching position for WAG competitive programmes.
Excellent writing skills to write professional emails to parents and organisational skills to coordinate activities within the gymnastics team
A self-starter and energetic team player with a willingness to learn
Leadership capabilities and dealing with staff
Familiarity with MAC platform and Google suite of programmes eg. Google docs, spreadsheets (Excel) etc & quick learner with regard to our other software platforms used at UWCSEA eg. notices and Mail merge etc
Competent administrator, who is flexible, a problem solver, and demonstrates initiative and empathy to parents and children
