In a groundbreaking milestone for Singapore, Mr. Sng Puay Liang is set to make history as the first-ever Singaporean judge at the Olympic Games. Singapore Gymnastics (SG) proudly congratulates Mr. Sng Puay Liang on being selected as a reserve judge for the 2024 Paris Olympic Games, marking Singapore's inaugural official representation in the Olympic officiating team.
In 2022, Mr. Sng Puay Liang made history again by becoming the second person in Singaporean gymnastics history to be awarded Honorary Life Membership, the highest recognition bestowed for exceptional contributions to gymnastics in Singapore. His extensive involvement in gymnastics spans roles as an athlete, coach, committee member, club owner, and an esteemed official.
Having achieved his international judging brevet in 2005 at the 11th cycle of the Federation of International Gymnastics (FIG) judging course in Zhu Hai, China, Mr. Sng has since officiated in numerous local and international competitions, including four Asian Games and two Commonwealth Games.
For anyone engaged in High Performance across various sports, participation in the Olympic Games is a lifelong dream—an apex in one's career. Judges for the Olympic Games are carefully selected by the International Gymnastics Federation (FIG) based on their outstanding performances in evaluations at World Championships and World Cups, measured through the Judge Evaluation Programme (JEP).

Through his tireless efforts, Singapore boasts the highest number of FIG Men's Artistic Gymnastics judges in South East Asia and the highest number of Category 2 judges.
