GYMNASTICS COACH (2-YEAR CONTRACT)
We are seeking a WAG Coach experienced in coaching recreational and competitive WAG Gymnastics. The successful coach will help to develop and drive the WAG Gymnastics Program at UWCSEA East across Recreational and Competitive Levels.
Coaching:
- Assist in planning a gymnastics curriculum for different levels
- Prepare, plan and deliver technically sound session plans (for WAG Infant Gym, Excel and Competitive Squads)
- Ensure coaching techniques are in accordance to best practices
- Carry out, record and report assessments, physical testing, skills testing for all levels periodically
- Assist in setting individualized short, medium and long term plans (training and competition) for all gymnasts in the Competitive Squad
- Managing & achieving targets based on annual plans
- Monitoring of attendance, progress and reporting
- Talent identification of gymnasts in PE lessons
- Assist PE teachers with delivering PE lessons during gymnastics units throughout the school year
Operational (providing daily oversight so as to ensure):
- Work with the facilities team to ensure the gymnastics equipment is efficient and safe for use
- Optimal usage of the gymnasium and equipment
- Safe handling of equipment, usage guidelines are adhered to
- Advising equipment / training aid shortages etc.
Administrative:
- Assist in coordinating pre-â€season assessments, registrations, trials, class allocations
- Maintain up-â€to-â€date records of student and parent details
- Maintain up-â€to-â€date program information on the school website and notice board
- Respond to and follow up any parent enquiries by email and telephone
- Attend weekly staff meeting
Hosting Meets and Invitationals:
- Work with the facilities team in equipment set up in accordance to competition guidelines
- Assist to ensure meets can be run smoothly
- Assist in liaising with parent volunteers and High School volunteers and provide direction and guidance to their supporting roles
Requirements
- Qualified Gymnastics coach with good / excellent experience in coaching WAG (Womens Artistic Gymnastics)
- Holding qualifications in WAG (FIG level 1 or equivalent )
- Good all-round knowledge of Gymnastics and development requirements pertaining to different age groups.
- Adopt an appropriate approach to age-group training focusing on technical competence, team-building and long-term success
- Possesses good communication and interpersonal skills and able to relate to students, parents and teachers with quality service.
- Able to work both independently and as a team member
- Able to work during weekends and evenings
