This is an update from the 9th Board Meeting held on Wednesday 6 July online.
- The Board approved and adopted the Statement of Anti-Doping Policy.
- The Directors reviewed the up-to-date Compliance Register, which is a comprehensive listing of key statutory and regulatory requirements for Singapore Gymnastics and were satisfied that all obligations have been met.
- The Board reviewed the end of year financials (EOY) for FY21/22 which are now being audited that indicates a surplus for the year. The EOY financials will be reviewed by the Finance subcommittee (FIC) and will be tabled for Board approval by 7 September 2022.
- The Board reviewed the budget for the new financial year, with a planned deficit of $22k due to the upskilling of staff and the development of a GM succession plan. The board agreed the planned budget in principle, subject to review by the FIC before final approval by the Board.
- The Board approved the use of WAG restricted reserves for the upcoming WAG Commonwealth Games training camp for senior and junior NTC athletes.
- The Board agreed to schedule the 2022 AGM for Saturday, 24 September 2022.
- The Directors reviewed the plans for the 31 August Charity Gala Dinner and Auction, including the need for each director to approach the affiliated Clubs and Full members for their support; and to seek sponsorship for auction items. The target is to sell a minimum of 25 tables and raise a minimum of $50k nett from the event. The Board is also looking for a table sponsor for the SEA Games and Commonwealth Games athletes to recognise their endeavour and achievement as a community.
- The Board reviewed and discussed the responses submitted to the Charity Governance Awards assessment questionnaire.
- The Board requested Ho Mun Wai to review the proposed changes to the FIG Statutes that will be tabled at the 2022 FIG Congress in Norway and present his finding at the August Board meeting.
- The Board discussed the possibility of nominating candidates for the AGU meeting to be held in January 2023. Candidate nominations are due by the 15 October 2022.
- The Board assessed the Risk register developed in 2020 and agreed to schedule a separate meeting to review the register in its entirety before developing an annual review process that will be part of the regular Board meetings.
The next Board meeting will be held on 7 September 2022.
