The inaugural MAG TAC meeting discussed various topics related to FIG judges courses, national judges accreditation, and other gymnastics-related workshops and events.
Resignation Announcement
Perry Koh expressed his regret as he announced his resignation, citing increasing work commitments and a desire not to let down the TAC members.
FIG Judges Courses – 16th Cycle
The Technical Advisory Committee (TAC) reviewed the subsidy allocation for the FIG Judges Courses for 2025-2028. This allocation is based on judges' rankings according to policy P024 – Judges Allocation, which considers their brevet category, number of events judged, and results from the 15th cycle FIG exam. To ensure accuracy, each judge will receive a copy of their ranking for verification.
Discussions also centered on nominations and subsidies for intercontinental, international, and online courses scheduled for the 16th FIG judges course cycle.
National Judges Accreditation and Reaccreditation
The need for reaccreditation workshops for current judges whose accreditation expires this year was highlighted. These workshops will be scheduled after the completion of the National Programme review.
Additionally, workshops focusing on the 2025-2028 Code of Points (CoP) changes are planned for August. These will include sessions for national squad coaches, current National Level 1 & 2 judges aiming for FIG brevet, and new judges.
MAG National Programme Review
The TAC proposed a Working Group to review the MAG National Programme, which includes members from various gymnastic clubs and the MAG NTC. The group will finalise the programme framework and skill requirements, with a judge working group appointed thereafter to support new judging materials.
Other Updates
Plans were discussed for new National Judges Courses related to the revised MAG National Programme in early 2025, and a workshop was announced to educate National Squad athletes on the new CoP changes.
Feedback on recent events such as the SG Open and preparations for upcoming events like the Classic Competition on the new CoP were also noted.
Several agenda items, including discussions on 2025 events and policy reviews (P011 - Judges Accreditation Policy, P024 - Allocation of Judges, P034 – Judges Conduct), were deferred to the next meeting.
The meeting concluded with a focus on ensuring judges and athletes are well-prepared and informed for upcoming competitions under the new CoP guidelines.
