Over the first 3 weeks of December, the Pusan Gymnastics Association (South Korea) hosted the Singapore Men’s Artistic Gymnastics (MAG) team for a combined training camp. The boys trained at the National Training Centre of Pusan Gymnastics Association, and had an in-house friendly competition for all gymnasts to show case their skills.
Both coaches and gymnasts had a fruitful trip, sharing and learning different training tips and techniques, and forging friendship at the same time. Said Team Manager, Miss Lim Heem Wei:” Singapore Gymnastics is very appreciative for the opportunity to train and work alongside the Busan Gymnastics Team. The interaction between the two teams brought about positive synergy and exchanges, which benefited the gymnasts and coaches from both teams. We hope to see gymnasts and coaches who benefited from this camp continue to practice and impart the knowledge gained in their daily environment and beyond. The desire to upgrade and process of transfer of knowledge is important for any country to remain competitive in the circle. Moving forward, we hope to continue this collaboration between the 2 teams in the long term.” Captain Yeo Xong Sean, Sean added: “This was quite a new experience for the team (especially the juniors), as it was the first time training in a very cold weather for most of us. Some days it was so cold, that our body wouldn’t feel good to train. But we went through the training camp & gain new learning experience that will benefit us in the future.”
