Singapore Gymnastics (SG) are pleased to announce the appointment of our new Community Development Manager, Ms Dawn Ho, who will commence work with SG on the 3 July 2019.
This is a new role within the Singapore Gymnastics staffing structure and has come about after reviewing the previous staffing structure and aligning it more to the current Strategic Plan developed in late 2017. SG are committed to growing membership, while turning a true focus on developing the capacity and capability of the key drivers of the sport, our clubs and coaches. Dawn will be responsible for planning and organising the implementation of participation projects and programmes, as well as servicing the clubs and coaches through a more focused and improved communication and connection programme.
Dawn will be managing the following four key portfolio areas in her roles as the Community Development Manager:
Some of you may already know Dawn, as she was previously coaching at Prime Gymnastics, and was also the recipient of the Gymnastics for All Coach of the year in 2018 at our 2019 Annual Awards Dinner. Dawn has a Specialist Diploma in Sports & Exercise Science, along with Bachelor of Science in Management. She is an educator at heart with a love for learning, service design and a strong interest in user research. With 10 years of sports coaching background she has a wealth of knowledge and will be an asset to SG. Dawn is people-oriented, passionate about developing great experiences for learners and make technology work for the users to enrich learning journeys. Dawn is excited to join our team to foster a strong supportive gymnastics community.
Dawn will hit the ground running as she organises our fourth Fundamental Gymnastics Coaches Course on the 6-8 July, while also starting to work on the launch of KinderGym on the 6 August, which is a combined initiative with ActiveSG. Clubs will have a chance to meet Dawn face to face when we start our annual club visits, where we meet, chat and connect with all our affiliated clubs in late August, early September. Stay tuned also for our annual Club Forum, where the clubs come together to discuss how to continue to grow gymnastics in Singapore and how we as Singapore Gymnastics can support them.
We look forward to welcoming Dawn to our team. In the meantime please feel free to make contact and say ‘Hi’, you will be able to contact her at cdm@singaporegymnastics.or.sg, she will be the number one contact point for all our clubs and coaches moving forward
