Looking ahead to the AGU Congress on September 21 in Shanghai, China, the President, along with key members of the leadership team, will focus on securing the 2025 RG Asian Championship, preparing for the upcoming FIG Congress, and strengthening ties within the SEA zone. The FIG Congress, scheduled for October 24-26 in Doha, Qatar, will also see representation from the organisation's leadership, furthering efforts to enhance regional and international participation.
The board also reviewed financial statements for FY23/24, showing a surplus of $302,000 along with the budget for FY24/25. Discussions included the allocation of funds raised through recent events and the use of reserve funds. The upcoming strategic plan for 2026-2029 was another focal point, with the engagement of a facilitator to guide the planning process.
In fundraising efforts, the board explored partnerships with external organisations to enhance SG’s fundraising capabilities, with an initial target of $25,000.
The meeting concluded with updates on the CEO’s activities and ongoing operational tasks, including preparations for the 2024 AGM and strategic staffing decisions.
