The FIG Congress took place from 24–26 October 2024 in Doha, Qatar. It was attended by a Board Director, HPTD, and CEO. 

• There were Over 500 delegates, with voting for key positions and committees and constitutional amendments.
• Morinari Watanabi (JPN) was re-elected as FIG President.  Asian Countries are well represented through various FIG committees. Notable that nobody from SGP stood for election.  SG should consider reviewing its International Relations strategy. 
• Of interest, FIG are developing a schools gymnastics programme, which was referenced by Watanabi in his election presentation. From a video, it looks like a cross between foundational gymnastics and parkour. This will be useful to explore as a possible resource for a proposed “Introduction to Gymnastics” programme that is being discussed with SportSG.
• There was a presentation on the National Federations Insights Survey, conducted by FIG staff for the first time in 2024. They will repeat the exercise in 2025. This should prove useful for benchmarking SG against other similar national gymnastics federations from around the World and within Asia. 
• Paragymnastics is coming! FIG has a working group that is developing code of points, a classification system for physical, sensory and intellectual disabilities and a series of events. 
• A new FIG Marketing Plan is being developed.  Central to this is the re-branding of FIG to World Gymnastics.  New logos and branding materials will be available in time for the next Artistic Gymnastics World Championships 2025.
• The next FIG Artistic Gymnastics World Championships 2025 will be hosted from 19-25 October 2025 by Jakarta, Indonesia for the 1st time and the 1st time hosted in South-East Asia.

• The next FIG Congress will be hosted by Bangkok, Thailand in October 2026 

  Following discussion of the AGU and FIG Congresses, the SG Board agreed to review its International Relations strategy from October 2022.
