Gymnastics for older participants - Fitter for Life coaches training workshop this 18 & 19 Oct

Fitter for Life is a program targeted at older adults (i.e.  50+), to assist them in remaining active or regain physical capabilities, improve cognition and also encourage social interaction. It aims to help improve mobility, strength, balance and coordination with activities that can be catered to all levels of ability or mobility and improving daily life skills.

 

Come explore with Frances Crampton, State Coordinator of "Fitter for Life" at Gymnastics NSW, what this programme is about and how it can be incorporated into your club's current activities. You will learn a variety of skills and activities covering those with mobility challenges through to fit and active seniors.

The pre-requisites for the workshop are:
•    18 years or older
•    Current SG Technical Member
•    Valid Standard First Aid certification
•    NROC registered
•    Understanding Safe Sport as a Coach
•    A Fundamental Coach Accreditation or equivalent i.e. General Gymnastics and/or other higher accreditations i.e. Intermediate or FIG certifications

About the presenter:


Frances is a sports consultant and the current State Coordinator of "Fitter for Life" at Gymnastics NSW. Frances has extensive experience in the world of sport as an international level gymnast, coach, high performance manager, CEO of NSW Sporting Association and National Director of Australian Sporting Organisation. She has been involved in 5 Olympic Games and 5 Commonwealth Games in a variety of capacities including manager, coach, judge, television commentator and production manager. Frances also has extensive experience in the organisation of Functions and Events, vast experience in public speaking and being a Master of Ceremonies.
