NTC Selection Trials

Singapore Gymnastics (SG) is conducting a talent identification selection trial for our National Training Centre Men’s (MAG) and Women’s Artistic Gymnastics (WAG) Programs, in hope of identifying talented children who have the potential to represent Singapore at major games (South East Asian Games, Asian Games, Olympic Games etc) and championships in the future.

 

Students will be put through a series of testing stations conducted by the National Coaches and/or SG staff for us to have an understanding of each child’s aptitude and current abilities in gymnastics. The stations will only be revealed on the day of the selection trials.

 

This selection trial is suitable for any boys and/or girls, 7 years old and up (WAG), 7 -9 years old (MAG). It is NOT necessary to have background in the sport to be eligible for this selections.

 

Selection Date & Time

 

  • Saturday, 18 November 2017
  • Girls – 8.30 to 10.30am
  • Boys – 9 to 11am

 

*Kindly arrive 15 minutes before the stipulated time for registration

Attire & Safety

 

  1. a) All

 

  • Accessories and jewelry such as belts, watches, necklaces, and bracelets should be removed before the start of the session
  • All toe and hand nails should be kept short
  • Unsupervised use of any gymnastics equipment is not permitted at all times
  • Parents are requested to avoid communication with their child while the selection trial is in session

 

  1. b) Boys

 

  • T-shirt and shorts. T-shirt should be neatly tucked in

 

  1. c) Girls 

 

  • A gymnastics leotard is preferred. Alternatively t-shirt and shorts / legging will suffice. T-shirt should be neatly tucked in
  • All long hair should be neatly tied away from the child’s face

 

*Please note that should any of our staff deem a child’s attire / behaviour to be inappropriate and is seen to pose any danger to him / her or her surroundings, SG reserves the right to remove the child from the arena
