We are pleased to announce that the FIG Academy Level 1 RG Coach Course and Accreditation has just been confirmed to be held in Singapore, 2-10 July.
For those who don’t know, the FIG Academy is an international coaches course and accreditation conducted by international veterans/ experts that is held several times a year around the world. We are very much privileged and honoured to be hosting the Academy in Singapore for the first time.
1) Eligibility
- Possess at minimum, GG Coach Level 1 OR SG RG Coach Level 1 valid accreditation
- Must be a Technical Member of SG
- Must be a Singapore Citizen
2) Cost
- $710 SGD for the entire course. Includes meals, coffee breaks and closing dinner.
3) What to Expect at the Academy (Brief Summary):
- Technical explanations and demonstrations of how to coach/ develop RG body and apparatus difficulties
- Bio-mechanics and periodization theory
- Theory exam
- Practical exam – includes short choreography to a randomly selected piece of music
4) Future Plans and Additional Information
- Do note that the possession of FIG Academy Level 1 for minimum 1 year is the pre-requisite to do Level 2 of the course.
- Non-Singapore citizens could be eligible to participated in the Academy, but this is subject to
- a) Seeking approval and getting their home country’s Federation to register them when registrations are open
- b) Vacancies
- The SG RG and GG Coach Level 1 will likely be held in Sep 2018. Please make arrangements to attend these course(s). From National Championships 2019 and onward, coaches will be required to be Technical Members of SG AND possess minimum SG Coach Level 1 accreditation in order to enter the Field of Play (FOP).
