Singapore Gymnastics to Host Mandatory TH Judges Reaccreditation Courses in September and October
As the world of Rhythmic Gymnastics (RG) prepares for significant changes in 2025, judges across Singapore are gearing up for mandatory reaccreditation. The updated Code of Points (CoP), along with the newly revamped National Programme, will require all current judges to renew their qualifications to maintain their status.
In October 2023, Singapore Gymnastics (SG) announced that all existing judge accreditations would expire at the end of 2024, following the conclusion of the current Olympic cycle. This move aligns with the global update to the CoP, which mandates that judges either fully reaccredit or participate in updating workshops to stay abreast of the latest standards.
To ensure that local judges are well-prepared for these changes, SG will be hosting a series of reaccreditation courses in September and October this year. These courses are designed to help judges navigate the new judging framework that will be implemented in 2025.
Reaccreditation Courses Details
SG has emphasized the importance of these reaccreditation courses, highlighting that judging is a crucial component of the new programme's implementation. The new framework, set to begin in 2025, introduces a structured pathway for National Level 1 to Level 3 judges, each with distinct competencies and prerequisites.
Looking Ahead
The changes in the RG judging landscape are poised to enhance the quality and consistency of competitions nationwide. SG’s proactive approach ensures that all judges are equipped with the necessary knowledge and skills to uphold the sport’s high standards.
New participants interested in joining the Rhythmic Gymnastics judging community can look forward to the Level 1 judges’ courses in January 2025, where they will have the opportunity to embark on their judging journey under the new framework.
