Our very own Rhythmic Gymnastics National Head Coach, Dr Berfin Serdil Ors, was invited to present a workshop on Applied Science in High Performance Sports; Challenges and Opportunities at the National Institute of Education (NIE) on the 21 February 2023.
Due to her expertise in biomechanics and high performance sport, Berfin was a special guest speaker to the NIE Physical Education and Sports Science Group comprising of faculty members research staff and graduate students.
During the presentation Berfin talked about rhythmic gymnastics and her PHD thesis which included the analysis of penche balance in terms of muscular activation strategies, plantar pressure changes and kinematic analysis of joints. Her insights and research on penche balance are particularly valuable to the field of rhythmic gymnastics, and we're sure her presentation provided valuable learning opportunities for the Physical Education and Sports Science Group.
Berfin's expertise and contributions to the field of biomechanics and high performance sport are valuable assets to Singapore Gymnastics. It's wonderful to see her sharing her knowledge and experience. Congratulations to Berfin for being invited to present a workshop on Applied Science in High Performance Sports, and for representing Singapore Gymnastics so well!
