Robin Sim, a Singaporean Gymnast, receives boost from Chiam See Tong Sport Fund.

On Saturday, 28 July 2018, it was announced that Robin Sim had been added to the list of athletes that will be receiving support from the Chiam See Tong Sports Fund.

Sim, a student of ITE college Central, has been doing gymnastics since he was 5. He has represented Singapore in many local and regional competitions. In this year alone, he has already represented Singapore in the Singapore National Championships 2018 in March, the Junior Asian Champs (ART) in April, the Singapore Open in June, and the Thailand Open in July.

In the Singapore National Championships 2018 which was held in March, he was the champion for both the Floor and Parallel Bars event and came in second for the Vault event.

In the Singapore Open event, he came in third for the Pommel event and fourth for the Rings event.

The money that Robin Sim is going to receive will be used for funding coaching fees, equipment costs, and anything else related to his training and competitions.

Sim said,” It is an honour for me to be a recipient of support from the Chiam See Tong Sports Fund. Every bit of support we get will go a long way in helping me in my dream of representing Singapore at the Olympics one of these days."
