SEA Games Selection Policies Released for 2025

Published Fri 22 Nov 2024

Singapore Gymnastics has officially released the SEA Games selection policies for 2025, providing clarity and transparency for athletes, coaches, and clubs.

The release of these policies comes after a review process in collaboration with the Singapore National Olympic Council (SNOC) and is designed to ensure a fair and consistent selection process for athletes aspiring to compete at the SEA Games.

A significant element of the policies is the prioritisation of performance data from international competitions sanctioned by international and/or regional governing bodies. This adjustment ensures that the selection process aligns with SNOC's requirements while maintaining the integrity and competitiveness of the gymnastics community.

Key Highlights of the SEA Games Selection Policies:

  • National Championships and Singapore Open remain recognised events for selection purposes.
  • Local events will be considered, but they cannot serve as the sole source of data points for selection.

These policies provide a clear framework for athletes aiming for SEA Games selection, emphasising the importance of achieving qualifying results at recognised events and international competitions.

The full SEA Games selection policies are now available on the Singapore Gymnastics website. Athletes, coaches, and clubs are encouraged to review the policies to understand how they will impact future selection opportunities.
