The WAG HP Symposium had a session where our Technical Consultant, Ms Tracey Skirton share with the coaches the importance of "High Performance Mentality" and the phyiscal testing protocol. We also had our master coach, Mr Eric Boucharin share with the coaches on the biomechanics of various uneven bars 'release' skills, as well as the different drills and progressions that can be used to develop those skills.
Sunday's HP Symposium also saw the team from Singapore Sports Institute (SSI) and National Youth Sport Institute (NYSI) conduct the Body Resilience workshop. With the support of Singapore Gymanstics, the "Body Confidence in Gymnastics Guidelines" was developed in 2021 in collaboration with Australian Sports Dietitian, Fiona Sutherland, SSI and NYSI. The guideline is designed to support gymnasts, coaches, staff and families in their roles. It aims to help create environments where a person's body is spoken about, spoken to and treated with resepect and care. It offers "Four Pillars of Body Confidence" as a practical framework to move forward.
