Invitations have been sent out to clubs for Singapore Gymnastics Development Programme (SGDP), and Acceptances have been received. Invitations are based on a combination of the age and category entered into for National Championships. This indicates the gymnast is learning the correct skills at the correct age in order to progress to the high performance pathway.

In all, 83 gymnasts and their coaches, from 14 different clubs, will be part of the SGDP for 2021.

SGDP activities include physical testing of athletes, which helps us track their long term development as well as identify gaps in our development, and also coach development through workshops tailored to meet the long term needs of high performance gymnastics in Singapore

Part of the activities in June will include a session for parents of all SGDP gymnasts on what makes an expert sports parent. For anyone interested in this area, here is a good article.
