Singapore Gymnastics Judges Represent Singapore with Distinction

Published Fri 13 Dec 2024

Five gymnastics judges have represented Singapore with distinction at the 2025-2028 Intercontinental Judges' Course in Lausanne, Switzerland. This achievement highlights their dedication to excellence in the sport and strengthens Singapore's reputation in the international gymnastics community.

The judges included Sng Puay Liang for Men's Artistic Gymnastics (MAG), Lim Heem Wei and Yang Xiaoyun for Women's Artistic Gymnastics (WAG), and Cherrie Kwek and Phaan Yi Lin for Rhythmic Gymnastics (RG). Notably, this milestone marks the first time Singapore has achieved two Category 2 judges in RG, a significant development that highlights the growing expertise within the discipline.

The course, conducted by the Fédération Internationale de Gymnastique (FIG), is recognised as the highest level of certification for gymnastics judges. Participants were evaluated on their knowledge and application of the FIG Code of Points for the 2025-2028 cycle, ensuring they meet the standards required to officiate at major international competitions.

This accomplishment underscores the hard work of the judges and the support provided by Singapore Gymnastics in fostering expertise. These certified judges are poised to contribute significantly to the development and standard of gymnastics judging locally and internationally.

Congratulations to all the judges for their dedication and success!
