SG Sports TV turns focus on Singapore Gymnastics

Singapore Gymnastics speaks.

Headed by Karen Norden, Singapore Gymnast Terry Tay, Tan Sze En and Coach Gerrit Beltman joined Raj Kumar for SGSport Uncut interview on Wednesday, March 11.

Norden started the ball rolling by sharing that Singapore needs an eco-system that is willing to commit to a true high-performance framework, a culture that promotes, recognizes and supports the importance of sport both at the participation level and high performance and most importantly an education system that support the same ideals.

She also voices out that providing a home for gymnastics would put the organization in a good place. She continues that a facility that can accommodate all gymnastics disciplines together will be ideal to build the culture that is required.

Terry Tay, a renowned local gymnast with 3 SEA Games campaigns under his belt shares how he feels about what is being done to train athletes to “raise the game” to another level.

Coach Gerrit Beltman on the other hand, answers the intriguing question of whether the money the ONLY factor to see a medal-winning gymnast at the Olympics.

And finally, Tan Sze En, the second gymnast to qualify for the Olympic Games for Singapore revealed the story behind her injury which ruled her out from the recently help SEA Games.

All that in episode 16 of Singapore's latest Sports Talk Show, SGSports UNCUT.
