SNOC Women in Sports Committee’s “Let’s Talk About LeadHERship!”

Published Tue 28 Mar 2023

On Saturday, 18th March, Singapore Gymnastics sent two representatives, Leah Chew (RG Team Captain, 2021 and 2019 RG SEAG Representative) and Luretta Seah (WAG NTC Coach) to attend the SNOC Women in Sport's Committee's "Let's Talk About LeadHERship" workshop.

The workshop was organised by the SNOC Women in Sport Committee, and the SNOC Athlete's Commission with the main objective to act as a launching pad for new initiatives, and to create more opportunities to develop women leaders in sport.

It was a very informative and inspiring workshop that consisted of speakers: Mr Tan Chuan-Jin (Speaker of Parliament & President, SNOC), Ms Katie Sandleir (CEO, Commonwealth Games Federation), Dr Valerie Teo, and Ms Feng Tian Wei.

"A title or classification has no bearing on leadership. It's about impact, influence, and inspiration. Undoubtedly, we are in a better position now then we were decades ago. Female competitors at the highest levels of sport can serve as role models for kids. With the correct support, motivation, and values, anyone can become an effective leader." – Leah Chew
