Welcoming David Kenwright to Singapore
We’re thrilled to announce that David will join us in November as the lead WAG Technical Expert for our SGDP Camp and High-Performance Symposium.
David Kenwright has spent over 40 years shaping the landscape of Women’s Artistic Gymnastics, leading elite athletes to the podium on some of the world’s biggest stages. Recently serving as the Head National Coach and Strategic Lead for British Gymnastics, David has guided Team GB to remarkable achievements, including a bronze medal at the Tokyo Olympics, a silver at the 2022 World Championships, and a gold at the 2023 European Championships.
From his early coaching career in Canada to his current leadership role in the UK, David has shown himself to be an enthusiastic and empathetic leader, committed to nurturing talent from grassroots to elite levels. His skills in strategy, inspiration, and innovation are evident in his record of success with Olympic, Commonwealth, and World Championship athletes. Beyond competitions, David has made significant contributions to gymnastics education, developing programs and mentoring coaches across Canada, Australia, and the UK.
David’s dedication to coaching is matched by his commitment to lifelong learning, with recent certifications in safeguarding, equality and diversity, and effective communication. His accolades include the F.I.G. Honorary Coaching Diploma, Alberta Coach of the Year, and multiple "High-Performance Coach of the Year" awards. He has coached athletes to four Olympic Games, mentored numerous NCAA scholarship recipients, and been recognized by Sport BC for international coaching excellence.
David’s journey is one of resilience, dedication, and a profound love for gymnastics. With his strategic vision, he continues to elevate gymnasts and inspire coaches worldwide, leaving a legacy of excellence.
SGDP Workshops and Technical Experts
The SGDP workshops will run daily from 26–29 November, providing coaches with targeted technical training. Coaches can register for these workshops and observe the SGDP camps to earn Continuing Coach Registration (CCE) hours. Each session is designed to offer practical, actionable insights to elevate daily coaching practices.

Physical preparation concepts tailored for gymnastics, covering general vs. specific conditioning for young athletes. |
High-Performance Symposium – 25 November
In addition to the SGDP workshops, David will participate in a panel discussion at the High-Performance Symposium on Monday, 25 November, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM. He’ll join other technical experts to discuss “Successful Gymnast Pathways: Factors Leading to Success.”
Both the SGDP Workshops and the High-Performance Symposium are excellent opportunities for coaches to network, learn from industry leaders, and enhance their technical knowledge.
