At Singapore Gymnastics, we are pleased to announce that, Terry Tay, has been appointed to the Singapore National Olympic (SNOC) Athletes' Commission for the term 2022 – 2025!
The mission of the SNOC Athletes' Commission is to represent the views of Singapore's athletes within SNOC. To consider all questions and matters related to the athletes and advice the SNOC Executive Committee. To represent the rights and interests of athletes and to make related recommendations. To serve as a voice for athletes or their organisations in the SNOC Executive Committee. To advise and assist the SNOC Executive Committee and its Sub-committees in promoting Olympism, sporting excellence, fair play and athlete development. Finally, maintain contact with the IOC Athletes' Commission.
In order to be eligible for nomination and appointment to the Athletes' Commission, the candidate must be at least 16 years of age, be a Singaporean, must not have a criminal record, and have participated in at least one of the Major Games. Additionally, members must not have incurred any measure or sanction in relation to any violation of the Olympic Charter, the IOC, or SNOC Code of Ethics, the World Anti-Doping Code or any other applicable regulations issued by the IOC, and IF or SNOC. All members (other than the Founding Members) are to be nominated by the National Sports Assocaition, through election by their peers, and appointed by the SNOC Executive Committee. The term of office shall be four (4) years, with the appointments being made within a year after each Summer Olympic Games.
