Aligning to Ministry of Education’s announcement on 16 and 18 May 2021 to reduce the intermingling of students from different schools and enhance the safety of students, SportSG have included in their SMM that all gymnastics classes / programmes regardless of class size, catering to children and youth who are 18 years old (born in 2003) and below, are to be suspended or moved online. This takes effect from 19 May to 13 June 2021 or till further notice. This update does affect and includes gymnastics clubs.
Gymnastics classes can still go on for individuals above 18 years old. All activities must still adhere to the Gymnastics -specific Safe Management Measures published by SG on 14 May 2021 i.e. safe distancing, bubbles of 2, masks on at all times by all individuals etc. Singapore Gymnastics will be updating the Gymnastics-specific SMM in line with these further restrictions and once approved will distribute this to the community.
Based on the SportSG Further Stricter SMM FAQs updated on 15 May 2021, you may enter your premises and conduct administrative tasks including for filming/ producing digital content for online classes, subject to all prevailing Safe Management Measures. Sport Singapore will have to be notified beforehand at Sport_Covid@sport.gov.sg to confirm adherence to prevailing SMMs for digital content production. There shall be no other activities at the premises when digital content production is taking place.
As mentioned before, government agencies will be conducting inspections during this period and enforcement action(s) under the COVID-19 (Temporary Measures) Act will be taken against businesses or individuals who fail to comply with safe management measures.
