Published Mon 14 Oct 2024

In preparation for the upcoming Women's Artistic Gymnastics (WAG) Code of Points (CoP) for the 2025-2028 cycle, the Women's Artistic Gymnastics Technical and Advisory Committee (WAG TAC) organised a series of in-person workshops at the Black Box Auditorium, Sports Hub. Additionally, we are now focused on preparing for the Classic competition in November, which will be using the new CoP, providing a valuable opportunity to implement and gain practical insights into the new rules ahead of the official transition.

The first session was a workshop for WAG FIG Judges, held on 5 October 2024, from 9:00am to 1:00pm. This session provided an in-depth overview of the key changes in the new Code of Points. This workshop served as a preparation session for 9 participating FIG Judges, keeping them updated and well-prepared for the upcoming competitions.

The next session, a workshop for National Squad Coaches and Athletes, took place on 6 October 2024, from 9:00am to 12:00pm. A total of 28 coaches and athletes attended this workshop. This session was designed to help National Squad coaches and athletes to understand how the new CoP will affect the composition of routines, skill evaluation, and overall performance. The workshop focused on the strategies to adjust their training programs to meet the new standards, ensuring a smooth transition into the 2025 competition season.

These workshops mark the beginning of the WAG community’s preparation for the upcoming competition cycle, with more initiatives planned in the coming months to support coaches, judges, and athletes as they navigate the changes in the 2025-2028 Code of Points.
